Little School Donut Shop Ribbon Cutting
The donut shop is open, and every bit of it was created by the kids with help from their teachers. They built the shop (cut wood, hammered, sanded and painted.) The L you see up close was painted by Lindsey. They baked the donuts, and manned the shop. All the proceeds from donut sales will go to help animals in need (the kids voted on what they should raise money for.) Its the best example of emergent curriculum I've experience from Little School, and Lindsey is sooo excited about it. If you are near Lyon and Sutter on a Friday morning from 9-10 am stop by with 50 cents and you can buy a donut from the cutest little donut bakers around.

Lindsey and Travis
Second kids don't always get to choose their friends--many of them are simply the siblings of the older siblings original friends. We are so lucky that Lindsey and Travis Alt are such good friends. Even though they are both younger siblings, I truly believe Lindsey and Travis would be friends even if Maddie and Wyatt were not. They played so nicely together all weekend in Kirkwood--hardly ever an argument...If two four year olds can share one iPad, they must be close right?
Little School Donut Shop
15 days and counting until the Donut shop opens for business at Little School. Lindsey's class has been really interested in donuts this spring. They have made real donuts, play dough donuts, paper donuts, even visited a real donut shop. The best by far is that they built their very own donut stand to use at school. The kids sawed, hammered, and painted this whole stand (with some teacher supervision of course.) They are going to start selling their homemade donuts at Friday am drop off....why do I feel like we will be big donut customers?

Lindsey's First Gingerbread House
Lindsey made her first all be herself gingerbread house on Saturday. Elaine got them spots at the montessori school gingerbread party and they had a blast, and got covered in sugar and frosting. Lindsey did a great job! She and Maddie also fell in love with the new swing at Long Meadow Ranch...

It was Girly Lunch on Labor Day with the three of us heading for popovers to Neiman Marcus. The girls looks gorgeous in their dresses, and loved see everyone in Union Square. As soon as they scored the new microphone and guitar though they were ready to head home to try out their rock band, and have a lemonade stand for the last day of summer.
Next American Idol
In the making--Lindsey got the microphone, and Maddie the guitar this past weekend and we have had tons of rock shows and performances ever since.... I think Lindsey's band will have to be called Pretty in Pink.

Chili Ball
Is our favorite event/fundraiser in Napa Valley all summer long. Every generation is welcome, and has a blast. Our kids LIVE for the dancing, and the chance to have a WHOLE can of 7-up. (this is the first place they had a 7-up and we let them have basically one a year, at chili ball...)
So this video not only shows off their dancing skills, but also the effects of many ounces of straight sugar....
What's old is new again
Once upon a time my mom made this dollhouse for heather and me. Now Maddie and Lindsey are having a blast setting it up and playing the day away. Sometimes the oldies really are the goodies.

Pretty in Pink on her Birthday
Aunt Lynne gets the aware for finding the cutest dress up clothes for the girls. Every Christmas cute dresses make it into the rotation, and this year she hit a homerun with Lindsey's Pink frothy tutu fairy dress...If its pink, and fluffy, and has anything to do with ballet, you know it will be a bit with Lindsey Lou.
