Lindsey has been taking a music class called Jamboodas with Charity Khan, and she and the 3 other girls from Little School love it. Here is a video I took of their end of season "show"

Lindsey at Deck the Halls

Lindsey loved all the characters at Deck the Halls this year, the snow queen, rudolf, and frosty. She also loved the singing and dancing...

Lindsey's First Gingerbread House

Lindsey made her first all be herself gingerbread house on Saturday. Elaine got them spots at the montessori school gingerbread party and they had a blast, and got covered in sugar and frosting. Lindsey did a great job! She and Maddie also fell in love with the new swing at Long Meadow Ranch...

It was Girly Lunch on Labor Day with the three of us heading for popovers to Neiman Marcus. The girls looks gorgeous in their dresses, and loved see everyone in Union Square. As soon as they scored the new microphone and guitar though they were ready to head home to try out their rock band, and have a lemonade stand for the last day of summer.

Next American Idol

In the making--Lindsey got the microphone, and Maddie the guitar this past weekend and we have had tons of rock shows and performances ever since.... I think Lindsey's band will have to be called Pretty in Pink.

Chili Ball

Is our favorite event/fundraiser in Napa Valley all summer long. Every generation is welcome, and has a blast. Our kids LIVE for the dancing, and the chance to have a WHOLE can of 7-up. (this is the first place they had a 7-up and we let them have basically one a year, at chili ball...)

So this video not only shows off their dancing skills, but also the effects of many ounces of straight sugar....

What's old is new again

Once upon a time my mom made this dollhouse for heather and me. Now Maddie and Lindsey are having a blast setting it up and playing the day away. Sometimes the oldies really are the goodies.

So Many Roses
They are blooming away in Napa and Lindsey HAD to have a photo next to her favorites....any guesses?? Pink of course!

A Rare Warm SF Afternoon

about a week ago its was warmish in SF in the afternoon, so the girls ran through a sprinkler and then decided they wanted to take their naps outside....

they even brought down their eyeshades!

Pretty in Pink on her Birthday

Aunt Lynne gets the aware for finding the cutest dress up clothes for the girls. Every Christmas cute dresses make it into the rotation, and this year she hit a homerun with Lindsey's Pink frothy tutu fairy dress...If its pink, and fluffy, and has anything to do with ballet, you know it will be a bit with Lindsey Lou.

Lindsey's Birthday!

Lindsey turned four--and got a ton of new toys that have some staying power.

The Barbie Vacation House is a huge hit, along with the princess sticker maker...hours of fun for everyone!!!

Tennis Camp

Maddie and Lindsey both took tennis lessons this year at Napa Valley Country Club with some success. Maddie is really getting into the sport, and I think Lindsey will get there some day, she just needs to watch the ball rather than all the other things going on, on and off the court.....

Lindsey's First Friend

Being a second kid, most of Lindsey's playmates are the younger siblings of Maddie's friends (Lily, Travis, Will, Spencer, Johnny and more...) Until she started Little School last fall she really didn't have any friends of her own.

She and Ella hit it off day one. Their relationship is a bit fiery--some days they are in love, some days they are mortal foes, but in the end they are just what the other needs...I watched Forrest Gump a few weeks ago, and Lindsey and Ella are really like Jenny and Forrest: They go together like peas and carrots....

Lindsey and LS Graduation

Lindsey adored her first year at little school--and I have loved her teachers since Todd was Maddie's teacher 3 years ago. It was heartbreaking to say goodbye. Lindsey graduated to MFAM--and will have a new set of teachers next fall. But really its only see you soon, since Lindsey can pop in for a huge hug from Todd any time she likes. It was really special the Vicki and Kristen were in town to see the graduation...Lindsey loved having a crowd.

Red Ribbon!

Lindsey earned her red ribbon at La Petite Baleene, which means she really can swim on her own, doesn't need floaties at all. She had stalled, sort of decided she didn't like swimming lessons any more, and then over spring break in Mexico she really got into swimming. After 2 lessons back her teacher could not believe her progress, and tested her for her red ribbon...she passed with flying colors. Now she is working on her white ribbon, which means a real head first dive into the pool is in the works. Maddie promises to teach Lindsey just how to do it!

Same Place One Year Later

Nothing tells you how much your kids grow up and how quickly more than a photo. Hear are Maddie and Lindsey at Esperanza last week (april 2010) and below that is last year (april 2009.) Lindsey looks like Maddie did last year, and Maddie looks like she is ready for middle school if you ask me!

Burlingame Easter Egg Hunt

It was freezing, Lindsey was cranky, and when they announced that the 3 and 4 yr olds had to go after the eggs without their parents Lindsey burst into tears....(Georgia had just gone for her turn and Tia had gone with her...)

The minute they called out for 3 and 4 year olds and Lindsey saw those eggs go flying she rallied and pulled it together--so much so that she came away a basket full of eggs. And those tears were quickly replaced with a huge smile!

So much fun!

Dirt to Dine
Maddie and Lindsey got to attend Dirt to Dine in Napa today thanks to Elaine. They had an amazing time on the Frog's Leap Farm investigating the chickens, picking oranges, choosing herbs and planting strawberries. Lindsey's favorite time was the dine, and Maddie's favorite was the dirt--so it was a match made in heaven.

Oh, and they got a cooking lesson from Michael Chiarello-I think mom thought that was cooler than they did--sadest part was Dan is in Germany so he didn't get to meet a Top Chef Master in person!

photos are here

Pick Up at Little School

It was hot on Friday so the sprinklers were running on the back yard at Little School
--and this is how Lindsey got handed to me after lunch...she left her clothes in the playyard and we had to go find them....Apparently she had a great naked lunch!

Lindsey's Day at Miss Tilly's
So I feel like I have been living there, but it was so fun to see Lindsey dance today--she adores it, and really seems to know the songs they sing as well...oh and then there is her overly dramatic bow/courtsey...she is a ham.

Most photos are at mobile me, (you can click to get to the album) but this is my fave.

Riding the Magic Carpet
Lindsey loved ski school and graduated from the magic carpet to the chair lift!  She even got the edgie wedgie which is a tie to hold her ski tips together.  These three photos of her on the magic carpet sum up her little personality

Hi mom--

I have got this Magic Carpet ride DOWN--

To Please, mom, NO MORE PHOTOS--I am busy skiing, can't you see???

Lindsey skis

But we need to teach her that snow can be dirty

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Why does this photo really say it all about Lindsey?

1. She is wearing mom's glasses and looks fantastic
2. She is eating french fries. Without them she would like die of starvation.
3. She is hamming it up for the camera. When she is on she is on, and when she isn't there is no changing her mind--she is as stubborn as they come.

And that is why we love her!

Napa Fun even on a cloudy day
Lindsey has a notebook for coloring at Pop Pops house that she uses pastels in, and given how much energy she puts into her pasteling, she has to do it outside--the pastel dust gets everywhere. Even on a gray day Calistoga is gorgeous, and Lindsey was hamming it up for the camera.

Food From the Heart
Dan poured Jones Family Vineyards at Food from the Heart for Slow Food last night, so I brought the kids down to the Ferry Building for Dinner at Taylor's. They loved dinner, liked seeing Daddy, and thought the food was only ok at the Ferry Building. (Although Lindsey LOVED her salami cone from Boccalone.)

The best part for Lindsey was clearly the music. She made a new friend as she danced away to a local band.
